New Delhi: In a distressing development, a 9-year-old girl brought a harrowing complaint to the Mawana police station on Tuesday, accusing her father of serious abuse. Accompanied by her uncle, the young girl tearfully requested, Put Papa in jail, he does dirty things to me. Her emotional plea left everyone visibly shaken.Girls heartbreaking testimonyThe girl, visibly frightened, was escorted to the police station by her uncle, who requested to speak with a senior officer. Upon meeting the officer, the girl recounted her ordeal, saying, “Police uncle, I want to file a case against my father.” When asked to elaborate, she tearfully described being subjected to inappropriate acts by her father and physical abuse when she resisted.The girls maternal uncle explained that her mother had passed away some time ago, leaving the child in the care of her father and two brothers. The uncle revealed that the girl had been subjected to repeated harassment and abuse by her father. He emphasized that the distressing situation came to light only recently during a visit.My niece felt unsafe living with her father, the uncle stated. We brought her to the police station as soon as we learned about her suffering.Police response The police acted promptly upon receiving the complaint, registering a case against the father and arresting him without delay. The girl was taken to Asha Jyoti Kendra, a shelter for women and children in distress, for her protection and care.Ongoing investigationAuthorities have initiated a thorough investigation into the allegations. The accused father is currently in police custody, and a medical examination of the girl has been completed. A police spokesperson assured that the case is being treated with utmost seriousness. “We are committed to ensuring justice for the young victim. The investigation is ongoing, and strict action will be taken against the accused if he is found guilty,” the spokesperson confirmed.
