Police bust fake sadhu ring, rescues minor girl; They used to do THIS with them

New Delhi: In a harrowing case from Jharkhand's Girdih a gang of sadhus were apprehended by the local police. The Girdih police officials rescued a minor girl from the clutches of human traffickers disguised as sadhus (holy men). Three accuseds who are allegedy involved in the crime have also been arrested.

Police officials locate the missing girl

Acting on a tip-off from the girl's family, Superintendent of Police (SP) Deepak Kumar Sharma directed a special team to be formed. Led by City Police Station In-charge Shailesh Kumar and Mufassil Police Station In-charge Shyam Kishore Mahato, the team swiftly located the girl at the Giridih bus stand, approximately 20 kilometers away from her residence. While the girl was safely recovered, the cunning trafficker managed to escape on a bus.

Caught the sadhus in a bus

Undeterred, the police utilized technical assistance to track the bus carrying the fleeing suspect. Though the suspect initially evaded capture, coordinated efforts by the Pirtand and Dumri police stations led to the apprehension of two accomplices hiding in a guest house within Giridih city. Following interrogation of the arrested accomplice, a raid on the Chhaparia Rest House led to the capture of the remaining absconding criminal.

The SP revealed that the accused, identified as Saroj Kumar Lal Dev, Sunil Lal Dev, and Tripurari Lal Dev, all residents of Baheri in Darbhanga, Bihar, employed a manipulative tactic. Posing as sadhus, they approached a family in the Bhandaar area under the pretense of guiding them through supposed astrological problems. They specifically targeted a young girl in the family, claiming she possessed "Manglik Dosh" (an astrological concept associated with marital difficulties). After gaining the family's trust, they seized an opportunity to abduct the girl.

SP Sharma commended the vigilance of the family and their prompt action in contacting the authorities. He emphasized the importance of community awareness regarding such deceptive tactics employed by criminals. The police have heightened vigilance in the area to prevent similar incidents.
