Moreover, the country will also commemorate the 153rd birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of our nation, whose inspiring ideas continue to impact many. The day also signifies the ninth anniversary of the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), initiated by PM Modi in 2014 as a campaign that embodies Gandhi’s principles on cleanliness and sanitation in a modern way.

Now, this time the Centre has launched a nationwide cleanliness campaign ‘Shramdaan Se Swachhata’ (Shramdaan for Swachhata) under the ambit of Culture Ministry to make October 02 more memorable. The ministry has also published a video message on social media, requesting the citizens to take part in the drive.
