PM Modi urges for 'No Gadget Zone' during 'Pariksha Pe Charcha 2024'

During his address at ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’, PM Modi urged parents of the need for a ‘no gadget zone’ at home.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday encouraged students to cultivate a healthy competitive spirit and lead balanced lives. Speaking to parents and students at his yearly ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’, which was the seventh edition of the program, he emphasized the significance of having a ‘no gadget zone’ inside of homes and promoted spending quality time with family time free from technological distractions.

PM Modi during the addressal underscored the importance of ‘recharging’ not only electronic gadgets but also our bodies, drawing attention to the requirement for proper sleep. He remarked, "Just like a mobile requires charging to function, similarly it is very important to keep the body recharged, because keeping the body healthy is very important for a healthy mind. For this, taking proper sleep is also very important.”

"There should be a 'no gadget zone' inside the home. When you are with your family, sitting at the dining table there should be no use of phones to communicate," he added.

He also asked the students to keep track of their screen time.

PM Modi also emphasized on the developing the habit of making decisions on their own. He said, “We should develop the habit of being decisive. One should not remain in confusion. If there is any confusion then we should talk about it and resolve it and move ahead.”

While addressing the students, PM Modi asked the students to practice writing every day. “In today's era, due to technology, the habit of writing has reduced, whereas writing has to be done in the exam. Therefore, write something in your notebook every day. Make a habit of writing..,” he said.

PM Modi also urged the students to become capable of bearing pressure.
