Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to chair the 3rd National Conference of Chief Secretaries in Delhi from December 28 to December 29. Driven by the PMs vision of participative governance, these conferences encourage collaboration for people-centric development.What are the key agendasThe 2023 conference has sub-themes of land & property, electricity, drinking water, health and schooling. Special sessions are also planned on cyber security challenges, artificial intelligence applications in governance, aspirational district programmes and more.There will be focused deliberations on drug de-addiction and rehabilitation, tourism promotion, the Amrit Sarovar initiative, and skill development schemes like PM Vishwakarma Yojana. States and UTs will also showcase best practices that can be replicated nationwide.On electricity access, the conference may highlight initiatives like the Rs 3.03 lakh crore Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme to strengthen supply infrastructure. The Jal Jeevan Missions work on providing tap water connections to rural households is also likely to be discussed.With PM Modi emphasising digital public services, the meeting could explore integrated e-governance models for efficient and transparent delivery.
