Just a day after laying the foundation stones of an international cricket stadium in Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is now all to flag off nine Vande Bharat trains across 11 states at 12.30 pm today (September 24) through video conferencing.
Notably, these nine trains will run across 11 states of the country, including Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, West Bengal, Kerala, Odisha, Jharkhand and Gujarat.
The Vande Bharat trains will improve the connectivity of important religious places across India. Two Vande Bharat routes – Rourkela-Bhubaneswar-Puri and the Tirunelveli-Madurai-Chennai will connect the religious towns of Puri and Madurai respectively, according to the railway ministry.
Meanwhile, the Vijayawada-Chennai (via Renigunta) Vande Bharat Express will provide connectivity to Tripati, a famous pilgrimage town.
As promised these Vande Bharat trains will be the fastest on their respective routes.
In a statement, the government said, “These Vande Bharat trains will be the fastest trains along the routes of their operation and will help save considerable time for the passengers. As compared to the current fastest train along the route, Rourkela- Bhubaneswar-Puri Vande Bharat Express and Kasaragod-Thiruvananthapuram Vande Bharat Express will be faster by about three hours; Hyderabad-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express by more than two-and-a-half hours; Tirunelveli-Madurai-Chennai Vande Bharat Express by more than two hours; Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat Express, Patna-Howrah Vande Bharat Express and Jamnagar-Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express by about one hour; and Udaipur-Jaipur Vande Bharat Express by about half an hour.”
The #VandeBharatExpress sports a striking new look as it glides over Vembanad Lake.
