New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to deliver his 11th consecutive Independence Day speech from the iconic Red Fort in New Delhi on Thursday. This will be his first Independence Day address after securing a historic third term as Prime Minister in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The celebrations will center around the theme ‘Viksit Bharat @ 2047,’ highlighting the government's vision of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047.

Modi will begin the event by unfurling the Indian flag, a tradition observed during his Independence Day speeches. His arrival at the Red Fort will be marked by a warm reception from Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, MoS for Defense Sanjay Seth, and Defense Secretary Giridhar Aramane. After an introduction to Lieutenant General Bhavnish Kumar, the General Officer Commanding Delhi, the Prime Minister will inspect the Guard of Honor. The Guard comprises personnel from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Delhi Police.

Modi takes center stage

Following the inspection, Modi will proceed to the ramparts of the Red Fort, where he will be greeted by top military leaders, including Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and the heads of the Army, Navy, and Air Force. The National Flag will be unfurled with a 21-gun salute, conducted by the 1721 Field Battery, and accompanied by the National Anthem performed by the Punjab Regiment Military Band.

The event will also feature a spectacular display as two Indian Air Force Advanced Light Helicopters shower flower petals during the flag unfurling. Concluding his speech, PM Modi will lead the nation in the National Anthem, sung by NCC cadets, underscoring the patriotic spirit of the day.
