PM Modi honored with Sri Lanka's highest civilian honor

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently on a 3-day visit to Sri Lanka. During this, he was awarded a special highest civilian honour 'Mithra Vibhushana'. PM Modi described this honor as not just his honor but the honor of 140 crore Indians. He said that this honor is a symbol of India's culture, tradition and its global image. The warmth with which Sri Lanka welcomed him is expected to strengthen the relations between the two countries. This visit of PM Modi is being considered historic in many ways.

Sri Lanka: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been awarded Sri Lanka's highest civilian honour. PM Modi has thanked Sri Lanka for this honour. He also said that this is not just his honour but an honour for 140 crore Indians. PM Modi is on a 3-day visit to Sri Lanka. On the first day of PM Modi's visit, several agreements have been signed between India and Sri Lanka, including on defence and infrastructure.

PM Modi said on this occasion, 'India's vision has been Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas. We give priority to friendly countries. Sri Lanka is not only our neighbouring country but also a good friend. We stood firmly with Sri Lanka in its difficult times. It is a matter of pride for me to be honoured with Sri Lanka Mitra Vibhushan by President Dissanayake today.

This honour is not only mine, but it is the honour of 140 crore Indians. It is an honour for the historical relations and deep friendship between India and Sri Lanka. It is a matter of pride for India that we have discharged our duties as a true neighbour friend.'
