PM Modi's Gujarat visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarks on a two-day visit to Gujarat, scheduled for February 24 and 25, during which he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of various transformative projects valued at more than Rs 52,250 crore.

PM Modi's Gujarat visit: Overview of projects

During his visit, PM Modi will initiate projects spanning diverse sectors such as health, transportation, energy, tourism, and more. Among the highlights is the Sudarshan Setu, India's longest cable-stayed bridge, connecting Okha mainland and Beyt Dwarka. Additionally, the Prime Minister will lay the groundwork for five new AIIMS campuses in Rajkot, Bathinda, Rae Bareli, Kalyani, and Mangalagiri.

Prime Minister Modi arrived at Jamnagar airport late in the evening, where he was warmly welcomed by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and state BJP president CR Patil. A 2-kilometer road show in Jamnagar District marked the beginning of his visit.

PM Modi's Gujarat visit: Day two itinerary

  • 7:45 am: PM Modi will commence the day with a visit to Beyt Dwarka temple, followed by a tour of the Sudarshan Setu at approximately 8:25 am.
  • 9:30 am: The Prime Minister will pay homage at Dwarkadhish Temple.
  • 1:00 pm: A foundation stone laying ceremony for projects worth more than Rs 4,150 crore will take place in Dwarka.
  • 3:30 pm: PM Modi will visit AIIMS Rajkot.
  • 4:30 pm: The day will conclude with the inauguration and foundation stone laying of projects exceeding Rs 48,100 crore at Race Course Ground in Rajkot.

PM Modi's Gujarat visit: Notable projects, inaugurations

  • Sudarshan Setu: This cable-stayed bridge, stretching 2.32 km and costing around Rs 980 crore, is adorned with verses from Srimad Bhagavad Gita and images of Lord Krishna. Equipped with solar panels generating one megawatt of electricity, the bridge promises to streamline transportation between Dwarka and Beyt-Dwarka.
  • Pipeline Project at Vadinar: Aimed at enhancing pipeline infrastructure efficiency and reliability.
  • Rail Electrification Projects: Modernizing rail networks for smoother connectivity and transportation.
  • Healthcare Infrastructure: Dedication of five AIIMS campuses to bolster healthcare facilities.
  • Renewable Energy Initiatives: Foundation stone laying for various solar and wind energy projects.
  • Road and Rail Infrastructure: Inauguration and commencement of several road and rail development projects aimed at improving connectivity.
