Remembering Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti

Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, also known as Garib Nawaz, was a Persian-origin Sunni Muslim philosopher and religious scholar. Born in Sijistan (modern-day Sistan) in Iran, he came to the Indian subcontinent in the 13th century, settling in Ajmer, Rajasthan. Founder of the Chishti Order of Sunni Islam, he emphasised the unity of being with God, and his teachings continue to foster peace and harmony.

Ajmer Sharif Dargah: A Spiritual Landmark

Chishti made Ajmer his home from 1192 until his passing in 1236 AD, and the shrine was later constructed by Mughal King Humayun in his honor, establishing Ajmer Sharif Dargah as a spiritual landmark.
