New Delhi:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi was warmly welcomed by the Indian diaspora as he arrived in Singapore for a two-day visit. The Indian community organized a lively cultural event to greet him, showcasing the rich traditions of India in the heart of Southeast Asia. During the event, PM Modi surprised everyone by joining the performers on stage, where he played the ‘dhol’ (drum) with remarkable skill, keeping perfect rhythm with the artists.

The Prime Minister shared the visuals of his enthusiastic welcome on social media, expressing his gratitude to Singapore for the vibrant reception. In the video, PM Modi is seen thoroughly enjoying the cultural performances before he walks over to a performer, takes over the dhol, and plays it effortlessly, much to the delight of the audience.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also shared the video on X, praising PM Modi's spontaneous participation. He wrote, “When Maharashtra’s enthu, culture & festive vibes are felt in Singapore too, Hon PM Narendra Modi ji joins it, plays the Dhol perfectly, without missing a single beat!” In another video shared by the Prime Minister, he is seen interacting with the Indian community, giving autographs, and soaking in the festive atmosphere filled with Indian music and dance.

PM Modi’s visit aims to strengthen the ties between India and Singapore, focusing on boosting the strategic partnership and attracting investments. Earlier, PM Modi tweeted about his arrival in Singapore, expressing his anticipation for the upcoming meetings aimed at enhancing the India-Singapore friendship. This marks his fifth official visit to Singapore, reflecting the growing ties between the two nations.
