Nobody will ever forget the terrorist attack on the Indian Army that took place in Pulwama, Jammu-Kashmir. Prime Minister Narendra Modi remembered the CRPF members who lost their lives in a terrorist attack on their convoy in Pulwama on this day in 2019.

He tweeted, “Remembering our valorous heroes who we lost on this day in Pulwama. We will never forget their supreme sacrifice. Their courage motivates us to build a strong and developed India.” Over 40 soldiers had made the supreme sacrifice after a suicide bomber rammed his vehicle into the CRPF convoy.

The CRPF and other security forces also honoured the 40 jawans who lost their lives in a terrorist attack on their convoy on their 4th death anniversary today.

Officers from the force, the Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the Army lay floral wreaths on the memorial for the Pulwama martyrs here under the direction of Special Director General of the CRPF Daljit Singh Chaudhry.

Chaudhary said that the sacrifice of our Pulwana attack martyrs inspires us to work for a terror-free nation.

Officers who placed tributes at the memorial included Lt Gen A S Aujla, general officer commanding of the Army’s 15 Corps, ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, IG CRPF (operations), DIG South Kashmir Range, Rayees Bhat, and deputy commissioner Pulwama.

Along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union and opposition ministers also paid tribute to the Pulwama attack martyrs. The responsibility of the attack was taken by the Pakistan-based terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed.

Balakot Air Strike in 2019

The Indian Air Force attacked the terror camps in Balakot, Pakistan, as retaliation. The 2019 Balakot airstrike was an attack by Indian jets on a suspected terrorist training facility in Balakot, Pakistan, on February 26, 2019. The airstrike was carried out by India on February 26 in the wee hours of the morning. Indian aeroplanes flew across the de facto boundary in the contentious region of Kashmir and dropped bombs close to the town of Balakot in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

According to media reports, in March 2019, Amit Shah claimed over 250 terrorists were killed in the Indian Air Force airstrike in Pakistan’s Balakot on February 26. Amit Shah said the government carried out an air strike in Pakistan and killed more than 250 terrorists.

Following the Uri incident, “our forces had entered Pakistan, conducted surgical strikes, and avenged the deaths of our men,” Shah added. At the public meeting, Shah declared that, “On the thirteenth day after the Pulwama terror assault, the government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, carried out an airstrike and killed more than 250 terrorists in the action.”

Social media is also flooded with special messages from citizens for the Indian soldiers who gave their lives in the Pulwama attacks.

In conclusion, the incident that took place in Pulwama will always live in the history of India. The anniversary will always remind us to be vigilant against terrorism while the nation continues to mourn the death of our brave warriors.
