The Prime Minister also noted the upcoming five-year anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, asserting that Jammu and Kashmir was moving towards a new future with promising prospects.PM Modi honored the soldiers Earlier in the day, PM Modi laid a wreath at the Kargil War Memorial, honoring the soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice during the conflict. In addition to his remarks on security and defense, PM Modi launched the Shinkun La Tunnel Project, marking the beginning of the construction of a 4.1-kilometer-long twin-tube tunnel on the Nimu-Padum-Darcha road in Ladakh. At an altitude of approximately 15,800 feet, the Shinkun La Tunnel will be the highest in the world upon completion. This strategic infrastructure is expected to enhance all-weather connectivity to Leh, facilitate the movement of armed forces and equipment, and spur economic and social development in the region.
