PM Modi inspires 3,000 young leaders at Viksit Bharat Dialogue, emphasizes youth's role in shaping India's Future

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the pivotal role of India's youth in realizing the nation's aspirations for development during his address at the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2025. This event, held at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi on National Youth Day, celebrated the 163rd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and gathered approximately 3,000 young participants aged 15 to 29.

The Vision for a Developed India

In his speech, Modi expressed his unwavering belief in the potential of Indian youth, drawing inspiration from Swami Vivekananda's vision. He stated, “Today, the whole nation is remembering and saluting Swami Vivekananda Ji. Swami Ji had immense faith in the youth of India. He believed in their potential to solve every problem. Like Vivekananda Ji believed in you, I believe in him and everything he envisioned for India’s youth.” This acknowledgment highlights the historical significance of Vivekananda's ideals and their relevance in contemporary India.

Shaping the Future: Youth as Leaders

Modi also referenced the recent G-20 Summit held at the same venue, noting that global leaders had previously discussed the world's future there. He remarked, “In this very place where global leaders discussed the future of the world, the youth of India are now shaping the road map for the next 25 years. It is my great fortune to be here with you.”

This statement underscores the importance of youth engagement in national and global dialogues.Reflecting on a personal encounter with young athletes, Modi shared an inspiring moment: “One athlete stood up and said, ‘Modi ji, you might be the PM for the world, but for us, PM means param mitra (best friend).’” This sentiment illustrates the close bond between leaders and young citizens.

A Call to Action

Reiterating his confidence in India's youth, Modi stated, “I firmly believe that with the strength of India’s youth, the dream of a developed nation is achievable. Some may think this is an impossible goal, but I believe otherwise.” He encouraged attendees to align their actions with the vision of a developed India by focusing on economic empowerment, strategic growth, social equity, and cultural richness.

During this engaging event, Modi also observed presentations from youth leaders covering various topics such as women empowerment, sports development, cultural initiatives, startups, and infrastructure projects. Additionally, he launched a book titled Yuva Shakti’s Vision for Viksit Bharat @ 2047, further emphasizing his commitment to empowering young leaders.
