The centre is anticipated to train between 10,000 and 15,000 employees a year. Training in controlled and simulated extreme weather will improve students' sea survival abilities and maybe raise their chances of making a safe escape from actual disasters.
Integrated Sea Survival Training (ISST) is a comprehensive program designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to survive in the event of a maritime emergency. It typically covers a wide range of topics, including:
Abandon ship procedures: How to safely and efficiently evacuate a vessel in distress.
Life raft survival: Techniques for staying warm, dry, and hydrated in a life raft, as well as signaling for help.
First aid and CPR: How to provide basic medical care to yourself and others in an emergency.
Firefighting: How to use fire extinguishers and other equipment to control and extinguish fires on board a vessel.
Hypothermia prevention: How to recognize the signs and symptoms of hypothermia and how to prevent it.
Personal survival techniques: How to find food and water, build a shelter, and signal for help in a survival situation.
ISST is typically required for anyone who works on board a commercial vessel, but it can also be beneficial for recreational boaters and anyone who enjoys spending time on the water.
Later in the day, PM Modi will take part in the Viksit Bharat, Viksit Goa 2047 program and launch India Energy Week 2024.
The Prime Minister's main area of concentration has been achieving Aatma Nirbharta in terms of energy requirements. The upcoming India Energy Week 2024, which will take place in Goa from February 6–9, is another step in this direction.
The program will not only bring together the whole energy value chain but will also be the largest and only comprehensive energy expo and conference in India. It will also act as a catalyst for the country's energy transition ambitions. The prime minister will host a roundtable, with CEOs and experts from the global oil and gas industry.
India Energy Week 2024 will keep focus on encouraging and fostering startups and integrating them into the energy value chain. It is expected to witness the participation of around 17 Energy ministers from different countries, 35,000+ attendees and more than 900 exhibitors. It will have six dedicated country pavilions - Canada, Germany, Netherlands, Russia, the UK and the US.
