The foundation of Swaryed Mahamandir was laid in 2004 by Sadguru Acharya Swantantra Dev and Sant Pravar Vigyan Dev has now been inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Varanasi on Monday.

It is a well-developed construction which holds the capacity to host 20,000 visitors. A lot of planning and dedication was devoted towards the project with the help of 600 workers and 15 engineers.

What is the Swarved Mahamandir about?

Swarved Mahamandir is a temple which offers a space for devotees who wish to pray or meditate. It is named after the Swarved, a spiritual text penned by Sadguru Shri Sadafal Deoji Maharaj (who is an eternal yogi and the founder of Vihangam Yoga). The Mahamandir encourages the messages of Swarveda and highlights the concept of Brahm Vidya. Brahm Vidya means to hold a state of consummate Zen by taking on a body of knowledge which empowers spiritual seekers and is characterised by consistent peace and happiness. The temple's vision is to 'illuminate humankind with its magnificent spiritual aura and engulf the world in a state of peaceful alertness' as stated on the temple's website. The building is spread over an area of 30,00,000 square feet and is constructed as a 7-floor structure.

The architecture of Swarved Mahamandir is admirable and worth studying in detail. The meditation centre is located in the Umaraha area which is situated about 12 km away from Varanasi City Centre. Beautiful details have been included in the architecture such as 101 fountains, pink sandstone walls, intricately carved teakwood ceilings and doors, walls carved with verses of the Swarveda, and a garden offering medicinal herbs.Swarved Mahamandir's alluring architecture and peaceful environment make for an inviting atmosphere.
