PM Modi on Waqf Board: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a statement regarding the approval of the Waqf Amendment Bill by Parliament. PM Modi said that the approval of the Waqf Bill by Parliament is an important moment in our collective quest for socio-economic justice and inclusive development. He said that this will especially help those who have been marginalized for a long time and have thus been deprived of both voice and opportunity. In a post on X, he said that for decades the Waqf system has become synonymous with lack of transparency and accountability, especially harming the interests of Muslim women, poor Muslims and Pasmanda Muslims.
A crucial moment for socio-economic justice and inclusive growth
He said, the passage of the Waqf (Amendment) Bill and the Muslim Waqf (Abolition) Bill by both the Houses of Parliament is an important moment in our collective quest for socio-economic justice, transparency and inclusive growth. He said that the laws passed by the Parliament will promote transparency and also protect the rights of the people. PM Modi said that India will now enter an era where the structure will be more modern and sensitive towards social justice.
Thanks to all the MPs
He added, we are committed to prioritising the dignity of every citizen. This is how we build a stronger, more inclusive and more compassionate India. The Prime Minister thanked all the MPs who participated in the parliamentary and committee discussions, who expressed their views and contributed to strengthening these laws.
