New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the Ganpati Puja celebrations at the residence of Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud in New Delhi on Wednesday. The event showcased a unique moment where two key leaders came together to honor Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles.

In a video shared online, PM Modi, dressed in a traditional Maharashtrian cap, was seen performing the aarti alongside Chief Justice Chandrachud and his wife. The trio offered prayers to Lord Ganesha's idol, in what was a deeply symbolic and spiritual occasion. After the ceremony, the prime minister took to social media, posting on X, "Joined Ganesh Puja at the residence of CJI, Justice DY Chandrachud Ji. May Bhagwan Shri Ganesh bless us all with happiness, prosperity and wonderful health."

Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations across India

Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayak Chaturthi, is a ten-day festival that honors Lord Ganesha, the God of New Beginnings. This year, the festival began on September 7, and celebrations are in full swing, especially in Maharashtra, where public pandals and homes are beautifully adorned with vibrant decorations. The festival is marked by processions, devotional chants, and rituals in reverence of Lord Ganesha.

Earlier in the day, US Ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti, visited the Shree Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Sanstha in Mumbai, paying homage to Lord Ganesha.
