New Delhi: A horrific incident has unfolded in Chhattisgarhs Balrampur district. Police have arrested a man accused of killing his 4-year-old son in a suspected ritualistic act. The man, identified as Kamlesh Nageshiya (26), reportedly claimed he was hearing voices demanding a sacrifice.Voices asking for sacrificeKamleshs family members informed authorities that he began showing unusual behavior on Saturday. He reportedly told them he heard strange voices urging him to sacrifice someone. Despite these warnings, the family reportedly did not take immediate action.Kamlesh woke upTragedy struck on the night of Saturday, May 25. After dinner, everyone in the household, including Kamleshs wife and two sons, went to sleep. According to initial reports, Kamlesh woke up during the night and first killed a chicken in the houses courtyard.Unthinkable act claims young lifeA police officer revealed that Kamlesh then picked up his elder son, Avinash, from their room and brought him to the courtyard. There, he allegedly slit the childs throat, taking his life.SacrificeWhen Kamleshs wife awoke and noticed her son missing, she confronted her husband. Devastatingly, Kamlesh confessed to killing Avinash in a supposed sacrifice. The distraught wife immediately alerted other family members and villagers who, in turn, contacted the police.Voices asked him to killAuthorities have arrested Kamlesh. A police officer stated, The accused is said to be mentally ill. He had told his wife and other family members that he heard a voice asking him to make a sacrifice. He further disclosed that Kamlesh had previously attempted to attack his mother, but was restrained by family members.Police investigation underwayPolice officials are currently investigating the incident. An autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death.
