A disturbing case has surfaced in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, where a married woman was allegedly raped by her neighbor under the false promise of marriage. The accused reportedly assaulted her at an abandoned madrasa in the village. When the victim pressured him to marry her, he allegedly threatened to kill her. The victim has now filed a case against the accused.

Incident in Maheva Ghat

The incident occurred in the Maheva Ghat police station area. The 26-year-old victim claimed that the neighbour initiated a close relationship with her over the past month. He then sexually exploited her under the pretext of marriage. On November 1, the accused lured her to his late grandfather’s deserted madrasa and raped her.

When the victim demanded marriage, the accused refused and threatened her with dire consequences if she reported the crime. Inspector Chandrabhooshan Maurya of Maheva Ghat Police Station stated, “The two shared a friendly relationship. Based on the complaint, a case of sexual assault has been registered, and an investigation is underway.”

Second case of sexual assault in Sandipan Ghat

In another incident in the Sandipan Ghat area, a 21-year-old woman was allegedly raped by her neighbour. The accused assaulted her after she resisted and later threatened to kill her if she reported the crime.

According to the victim’s father, he had gone to work on the morning of November 12, leaving his daughter home alone. The accused entered the house under false pretences and raped her. When the victim resisted, he beat her and fled. The victim immediately informed her father of the ordeal, who then reported the matter to the police.

Inspector Brijesh Karwaria of Sandipan Ghat Police Station confirmed the case, stating, “A case has been registered, and efforts are underway to arrest the accused.”
