New Delhi: Peethadheeshwar of Bageshwar Dham, Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, made an appeal during a press conference in Chhatarpur district, urging all Hindus to prefix 'Hindu' to their names. He emphasized that currently, people identify themselves by caste—be it Brahmin, Thakur, Vaishya, or Shudra. By adding 'Hindu' before their names, people from other countries would recognize them as part of the larger Hindu community.
Dhirendra Krishna Shastri highlighted that casteism has become a significant problem in India, describing the situation as one of "do or die." To restore India’s greatness, he believes that casteism must be eradicated. To achieve this, he announced his plan to unite Hindus through a foot march from Chhatarpur to Orchha, organizing what he called the "Hindu Ekta Padyatra."
Shastri explained that the purpose of this march is to ensure that when foreigners visit India, they encounter Hindus, not individuals identified by caste. He stressed that it is now necessary for every Hindu to include 'Hindu' before their name.
The Hindu Ekta Padyatra will begin soon, with registration available via mobile devices. Thousands are expected to participate in the march from Chhatarpur to the sacred city of Orchha. During the press conference, Shastri met with representatives from various communities in Chhatarpur to discuss and gather input on the upcoming padyatra.
