Pema Khandu takes oath as Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh

Pema Khandu sworn in as Arunachal Pradesh chief minister for the third consecutive term on Thursday in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Ministers JP Nadda and Kiren Rijiju, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, and others amid tight security.

Pema Khandu sworn in as Arunachal Pradesh chief minister for the third consecutive term on Thursday. The oath ceremony took place at the DK State Convention Centre in Itanagar.

The swearing-in ceremony took place in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Ministers JP Nadda and Kiren Rijiju, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, and others amid tight security.

Paving his way for the third stragiht term, Khandu was re-elected as the leader of BJP Legislature Party in Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday. In first, he bacome chief minister of the state in 2016. Follwoing this, the Governor Lieutenant General KT Parnaik (retd.) was invited to form the government in Arunachal Pradesh.

Notably, the BJP won 46 seats in the 60-member Arunachal Pradesh in the assembly elections held simultaneously with the Lok Sabha election. Ten seats were already won by the BJP unopposed before the polls.
