Parliament Winter Session: India's Parliament is poised for an active day as the winter session enters its 10th sitting today. Both houses have a full agenda covering key bills and statements across various ministries.

What’s in itinerary for Day 10?

In Rajya Sabha, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal will table the Repealing and Amending Bill seeking to overhaul certain legislation. Having already cleared the Lok Sabha, the bill now moves to the Rajya Sabha for consideration and passage.

Another critical bill is the Central Universities (Amendment) Bill to be presented by Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. This proposes reforms to the Central Universities Act 2009 regarding education infrastructure. After sailing through the Lok Sabha, it now awaits approval from the Rajya Sabha.

There will also be a status update on women and child welfare from Minister Smriti Irani. Her statement will outline implementation progress on recommendations from the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education and Social Welfare.

Furthermore, MP Vivek Thakur will submit three reports on similar topics – youth affairs, scientific research and female empowerment. These contain follow-up actions by the government on earlier committee proposals.

Separately, MPs Dr Ashok Bajpai and Rajmani Patel will table a report evaluating the production and distribution of coarse grains. This documents the government's response to observations by the Consumer Affairs and Food Committee.

In addition to legislative affairs, nine cabinet ministers have listed discussions across transport, rural development, education and social justice portfolios.
