New Delhi: On Thursday, leaders of the INDIA convened at Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's residence to plan their strategy for the upcoming Parliament session. The primary focus of the meeting was to demand a discussion on the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) issue in Parliament on Friday.

INDIA bloc plans to take on Education Minister over NEET issue

Following the recent Lok Sabha elections, the new Parliament session has commenced. Newly elected MPs have taken their oaths, and President Droupadi Murmu addressed the joint session of Parliament on Thursday. With these formalities completed, parties are now gearing up for the remaining session. The INDIA bloc, during their meeting at Kharge's residence in Delhi, agreed to bring the NEET exam issue to the forefront in Parliament tomorrow.

According to ANI, the INDIA bloc leaders have decided to demand a discussion on the NEET issue in Parliament on Friday. Should the discussion be denied, opposition leaders plan to stage a protest within the House, increasing the likelihood of uproar and disruption during the session.

INDIA bloc has a broader opposition agenda

In addition to the NEET issue, sources indicate that the INDIA Alliance will also protest against alleged political vendetta and misuse of central agencies like the CBI and ED against opposition leaders. This protest is slated for Monday at the Gandhi statue in Parliament, addressing the arrests of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, and three ministers from West Bengal.

Is the government ready to answer?

The government is also gearing up for these confrontations. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is reportedly ready to respond to opposition queries regarding the NEET question paper leak case. A significant meeting was held at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence on Thursday, attended by Home Minister Amit Shah and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, to discuss various issues, including the Parliament session.

However, it will be the Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan who is going to be majorly ring-fenced by the leaders of the opposition in the House.
