New Delhi: In a shocking revelation, the mastermind behind the Parliament security breach, Lalit Jha, took drastic measures to destroy evidence as he fled the scene following the arrest of his associates. The unfolding investigation paints a picture of a meticulously planned plot aimed at creating anarchy, with the accused harbouring intentions to force the government to meet their undisclosed demands.
As the net tightened around the accused involved in the Parliament breach, Lalit Jha, the alleged mastermind, resorted to destroying his phone during his escape from the scene. The arrest of Jha, identified as a teacher in West Bengal, exposed a sinister plan crafted over months, designed to plunge the country into chaos.
Sagar Sharma, Manoranjan D, Neelam Azad, and Amol Shinde, apprehended on the spot, now face severe charges under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). The police assert that the arrested individuals, under Jha's guidance, aimed to sow the seeds of 'anarchy in the country.'
In a significant breakthrough, Lalit Jha admitted to the police that the overarching goal was to foment anarchy, compelling the government to accede to their demands. His role extended beyond orchestrating the plan, as he confessed to disposing of the phones of his associates, a critical act in the larger conspiracy.
Delhi Police secured seven days' custody of Lalit Jha for interrogation, recognising him as the linchpin of the entire operation. The interrogation aims to unearth the depth of the plot, probing connections with organisations, foreign influences, and understanding the financial transactions fuelling the attack.
The canisters used in the breach carried explicit warnings against indoor or enclosed space use. The China-made product cautioned users to remove the protective cap, pull the ring sharply to the side, release the smoke, and retreat to a safe distance immediately.
Revealing a startling detail, a cobbler in Lucknow played a crucial role in the plot by modifying shoes to conceal canisters of yellow smoke. The FIR in the case highlighted the intricacies of the shoe alteration, including deep cavities in the soles and increased sole thickness with an affixed rubber sole for support.
