Parliament is not for 'Dal', but for 'Desh': PM Modi tells Opposition ahead of Union Budget 2024

Ahead of budget 2024, PM Modi requested the MPs to struggle for the country and struggle as noble person. He emphasized on the responsibility of all the political parties to work for the country for next five years.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday while addressing the press ahead of the Budget Session appealed opposition to rise above politics and work for the nation. PM Modi criticized the parties for the negative politics and accused them for using Parliament to cover up their failures. He lashed out at Opposition saying that it tried all tactics to prevent him speaking in the last session.

During his address, PM Modi said, “It is a sacred institution dedicated to the nation's welfare, not personal interests. Let us eschew negativity and instead embrace a constructive and productive mindset, honoring the sanctity of this 'Temple of Democracy' and working together for the betterment of our country!”

He further asserted that the newly formed Parliament, has witnessed unprecedented disruptions. Adding that the voice of the government, elected by a mandate of 140 crore Indians, was repeatedly silenced in the past sessions which has not only hindered the government's ability to fulfil its duties but also to respond to the people's expectations.

PM Modi requested the MPs to struggle for the country and struggle as noble person. He emphasized on the responsibility of all the political parties to work for the country for next five years.

It is important to note that the words from the Prime Minister have come before the beginning of the Budget Session, where Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is all set to present the budget for the financial year 2024-25.

Like every common man, middle class and salaried individuals are expecting some relief in the tax slabs. Experts also expect some major changes in the new tax income tax regime to make it more attractive for the people with an aim to give some relaxation.
