Parag Desai, Wagh Bakri scion, dies after attack by street dogs

According to the sources, during the course of treatment on Sunday, Parag Desai succumbed to brain haemorrhage.

Businessman Parag Desai, aged 49, a top executive at Wagh Bakri Tea Group, died on Sunday, after he was attacked by stray dogs outside his residence.

According to the sources, Desai suffered severe injuries after trying to ward off street dogs that attacked him on October 15. A security guard outside his residence informed the family members of Desai about the incident after which he was rushed to Shelby Hospital.

After staying under observation for a day at Shelby Hospital, Desai was shifted to Zydus Hospital for a surgical procedure. However, during the course of treatment on Sunday, he succumbed to brain haemorrhage.

Gujarat Congress chief and Rajya Sabha member Shaktisinh Gohil condoled Desai’s demise through his social media account. Taking it to X, he mentioned, “Very sad news coming in. Parag Desai, Director and owner Wagh Bakri Tea passed away. He had a brain haemorrhage following a fall. May his soul rest in peace. My condolences to the entire Wagh Bakri family across India.”

Desai was the son of Rasesh Desai, Managing Director of the Wagh Bakri Tea Group. He is survived by his wife Vidisha and daughter Parisha.
