India intensifies crackdown on militants in Jammu and Kashmir after Pahalgam attack

Ever since the Pahalgam attack in Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan has not been discouraged from its futile attempts. A 45-year-old social activist was attacked by suspected militants in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir and was taken to a hospital where he died of injuries, officials reported on Sunday. Militants opened fire on social activist Ghulam Rasool Magrey within his house in Kandi Khas area late last night, officials confirmed. But it has not yet been disclosed why the terrorists attacked the activists.

Terrorists' houses demolished

The recent attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir occurred on 22 April. Up to 26 individuals, including two foreign tourists, were killed in the attack. Following this, India has retaliated against Pakistan, where on one hand the visa has been revoked. On the other hand, the residence of many terrorists has also been destroyed. In the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack, the Kashmir authorities have made a big crackdown on militants and their sympathizers, destroyed the terrorists' houses, raided hideouts and arrested hundreds of overground workers for interrogation, officials reported on Saturday.

Action on 6 houses

Six terrorist or their affiliate houses were razed in the last 48 hours, authorities cautioned, and similar action would be taken against others involved in terror activities. As per officials, one of the houses brought down was Ahsan-ul-Haq of Pulwama, who had undergone training in Pakistan in 2018 and had recently crossed into the valley.

Authorities informed that action was also initiated at Farooq Ahmad

Shahid Ahmad Kutty, a top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander of Shopian, was engaged in anti-national activities for years and Zakir Ahmad Ganie, a resident of Kulgam, has been under watch since 2023 on charges of terror association. Action has been initiated at the residences of all of them. Authorities reported that action was also taken at Farooq Ahmad Tedwa's and Miskin Ahmad Tedwa's residences in Kalaroos area of Kupwara.Thus, the Indian Army is on alert mode and is reacting to the attacks that are being carried out by Pakistan.
