As India has successfully launched its first solar mission -‘Aditya L1’ today at 11.50 am from Andhra Pradesh’s Sriharikota, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended his congratulations to scientists of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and said that the tireless efforts to better understand the Universe would continue.
Taking it to Twitter, PM Modi wrote, “Our tireless scientific efforts will continue in order to develop a better understanding of the Universe for the welfare of entire humanity.”

Aditya-L1 launched shortly before midday, with a live broadcast showing hundreds of spectators cheering wildly against the deafening noise of the spacecraft’s ascent.
Notably, the solar mission is carrying scientific instruments to observe the Sun’s outermost layers in a four-month journey.
