In a spirited rally in Assandh, Karnal, Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, made bold claims about his party’s prospects in the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections. Addressing a large crowd on Thursday, Gandhi asserted that Congress would secure a decisive victory and form a government that serves every section of society.
While addressing the rally, taking sharp aim at both the central and Haryana state governments, Gandhi accused the ruling government of dismantling the employment system. "The current government has completely destroyed job opportunities in Haryana," he said, promising to reverse the damage if Congress comes to power.
Laying out Congress' plans, Gandhi assured voters that his government would provide tangible benefits to improve the lives of citizens. "We will offer gas cylinders at Rs 500, create two lakh jobs, and ensure a minimum support price (MSP) guarantee to farmers," he announced.
Gandhi also pledged swift compensation for farmers in case of crop failure and housing for the underprivileged. He emphasized the importance of Mahila Shakti (women empowerment), promising monthly gas subsidies of Rs 500 specifically aimed at supporting women.
Gandhi underscored the need for a nationwide caste census, arguing that it would provide a clearer understanding of India's social landscape. He further criticized the growing influence of RSS within national institutions, claiming that marginalized groups are underrepresented wherever the organization holds sway. "Most institutions are filled with RSS cadres, and there is no room for marginalized communities," he stated.
