Operation Kanchi: Two terrorists neutralized in major anti-infiltration operation in Jammu and Kashmir

New Delhi: In a significant development, two terrorists were neutralized, and a large cache of warlike stores, including two AK-47 rifles and a pistol, were recovered during an anti-infiltration operation conducted by the Indian Army. The operation, dubbed "Operation Kanchi," was launched on the intervening nights of September 8 and 9 in the Lam region of Nowshera, Jammu and Kashmir.

The operation was based on intelligence inputs from security agencies and the Jammu and Kashmir Police, which indicated an infiltration attempt. Following this information, the Indian Army's White Knight Corps initiated a search operation in the area.

In an official statement shared via social media platform X, the White Knight Corps confirmed the development, stating, "Based on inputs from intelligence agencies and Jammu-Kashmir Police regarding a likely infiltration bid, an anti-infiltration operation was launched by the Indian Army on the intervening night of 08-09 Sep 24 in general area Lam, Nowshera. Two terrorists have been neutralized, and a large quantity of warlike stores, including two AK-47s and one pistol, has thus far been recovered."

This incident follows a series of successful counter-infiltration operations in the area, including a similar action on August 29, where three terrorists were eliminated in the Machhal and Tangdhar sectors.

The operation remains active as security forces continue their search in the region. The quick response by the Indian Army has once again thwarted infiltration attempts across the Line of Control (LoC), further tightening security along the border.
