Online sex racket busted in Delhi; 61-yr-old man, two women arrested

In a major crackdown, Delhi Police busted an online prostitution racket operating out of a house in the Palam area. Acting on a tip-off, the police sent an undercover officer posing as a customer to Mahavir Enclave, where the illicit activity was allegedly taking place on the ground floor of house number 1/316.

Upon entering the premises, the undercover officer finalised a deal and signalled his team, leading to the arrest of three individuals, including two women and the main accused, identified as 61-year-old Liton Majumdar. Police revealed that Majumdar acted as a middleman in the operation. A sum of ₹2,000 was recovered from the suspects, and further investigations are underway.

Sting operation reveals details

According to police sources, the undercover officer engaged in discussions inside the house before signaling the team for a raid. The operation led to the immediate apprehension of all suspects and the seizure of ₹2,000. Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover the full extent of the racket.

Interstate theft gang leader arrested by crime branch

In a separate incident, the Delhi Police Crime Branch arrested the leader of an interstate “Thak-Thak” gang known for duping people on city roads. The gang tricked victims by pretending their vehicle’s tire was punctured or oil was leaking, only to steal valuables from their cars.

The accused, a wanted criminal from Dayal Ambedkar Nagar police station, has been involved in over 15 cases, including theft, snatching, and violations under the Arms Act. During the arrest, police seized ₹90,000 in cash from him.
