It was communicated to the Committee that, by a prior decision, the HLC has been renamed as the High-Level Committee on One Nation, One Election.Furthermore, the Committee received information that letters had been sent to six national parties, thirty-three state parties, and seven registered but unrecognized parties, inviting their input on the concept of One Nation One Election. The Secretary also mentioned the launch of a dedicated website for One Nation One Election during the meeting. This website will serve as an information repository on the subject and facilitate engagement with stakeholders for suggestions.During the meeting, the Law Commission presented its suggestions and viewpoints regarding simultaneous elections in the country. The delegation from the Law Commission included Chairperson Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi, Prof. (Dr.) Anand Paliwal, and Member Secretary Khetrabasi Biswal.Approval of budgetary allocations for 2023-24Key decisions made during the meeting included the approval of budgetary allocations for the fiscal year 2023-24. Additionally, the committee acknowledged the resignation of Adhir Ranjan Choudhury, the Leader of the single largest party in the Lok Sabha, from the Committee.Key attendees at the meeting include Amit Shah, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Ghulam Nabi Azad, former Leader of Opposition, Rajya Sabha, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of State (Independent Charge) Ministry of Law and Justice, N.
