Rau IAS' Advocate Mohit Saraf on Thursday announced a compensation package for the families of students who tragically lost their lives. While speaking to ANI, Saraf said, “We are offering a Rs 50 lakh compensation to each affected family.”

“An initial amount of Rs 25 lakh will be disbursed immediately. The remaining Rs 25 lakh will be paid once Abhishek, the CEO of our organization, is available and we can meet the financial requirement. I have also committed that the second installment will be paid within six months,” he added.

Saraf acknowledged the varied expectations of different individuals, emphasizing that he is merely the messenger delivering this news.

Meanwhile, it is important to note that this has come in the wake of heightened protests and demands for accountability following the unfortunate incident at the coaching centre which has claimed three lives due to flooding at the coaching center at Delhi’s Old Rajender Nagar. According to the advocate, the gesture aims to provide some relief and support to the grieving families, addressing immediate financial concerns while ensuring a structured timeline for the full compensation.

The assurance of the second installment within six months highlights the organization's commitment to fulfilling its promise despite the current constraints. Saraf’s communication underscores the organization's efforts to balance immediate action with long-term commitments, amidst the complexities of managing financial and administrative responsibilities in such a crisis.

Meanwhile, the committee that has been formed is investigating the case.
