The unfortunate Odisha train accident is witnessing a big death toll number as according to sources, the number of deaths has touched 290.
The ministry of railways has started a high-level investigation around the train crash in Odisha, which will be headed by the commissioner of railway safety, South Eastern Circle, officials said on Saturday.

The commissioner of railway safety works under the Ministry of Civil Aviation and investigates all such accidents. “A M Chowdhary, CRS, SE Circle, will inquire into the accident,” a spokesperson of the Indian Railways said.
Railways minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has promised a ‘high-level’ probe into the matter after he visited the crash site.

It should be highlighted that the crash involved two mobile superfast trains and a static goods train laden with iron-ore.

As per the sources, the toll is likely to rise even more as two general bogies of the Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express were thrown into a ditch and several bodies are anticipated to be trapped in these bogies.
