New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Thursday released the revised results of the NEET-UG 2024 exams after the Supreme Court on July 23 ordered to retract compensatory marks given to students on a Physics question in the original test. The revised result is available at exams.nta.ac.in/NEET/. The NTA decided to grant extra marks to certain students who answered incorrectly due to a mistake in their old Class 12 NCERT science textbook.

How will it impact students?

This decision cost five marks to 44 candidates who scored a perfect 720/720 in their exam, achieved All India Rank (AIR) 1, and downgraded their positions. The revision in the NEET UG-2014 scorecard will impact 4.2 lakh students who had initially accepted the answer in their physics question paper. However, the number of high achievers is expected to decrease significantly, dropping from 61 to 17.

Controversy related to NEET

The NEET result came into controversy after all-India rank 1 was shared by 67 students. Six students were awarded extra marks for loss of time due to invigilator errors, while 44 students received grace marks for an incorrect physics question.
