NSA Ajit Doval meets Sheikh Hasina at Hindon airbase: What's next?

New Delhi: Bangladesh's leader, Sheikh Hasina, landed at Ghaziabad's Hindon airbase on Monday evening. Her transport aircraft arrived from Bangladesh at approximately 5:30 pm. National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval also arrived at the airbase, staying for over an hour and a half. At around 7 pm, Sheikh Hasina’s convoy left the airbase, while Ajit Doval departed for New Delhi via the elevated road. Sheikh Hasina remained at Hindon Airbase for the time being.

Increased Security at Hindon Airbase

Earlier, at around 4 pm, heightened activity was observed outside Hindon Air Force Station. Air Force security personnel, along with local police, increased their vigilance. Sheikh Hasina's aircraft landed at the airbase at around 5:30 pm, coinciding with the arrival of NSA Ajit Doval’s convoy. Doval stayed at the airbase for about one and a half hours, during which complete secrecy was maintained. Local officials from the airbase and the police provided no information about the high-level visit.

Potential Departure and High-Level Meetings

Reports indicate that she has been taken to a secure location. Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Sheikh Hasina’s military plane landed at Hindon Airbase amid the unrest in Bangladesh, with speculations that she might travel to London via India. Jaishankar is believed to have briefed PM Modi on the evolving situation in the neighboring country. However, no official statement has been released regarding their meeting.
