New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has publicly distanced itself from remarks made by its Lok Sabha MP from Mandi, Kangana Ranaut, regarding the farmers’ protests. On Monday, the party stated that it does not share the same opinion as the one expressed by Ranaut and has instructed her to refrain from making such statements in the future.

In a recent promotion for her upcoming film Emergency, Ranaut claimed that "Bangladesh-like anarchy" could have occurred in India during the farmers' protests if it weren't for the leadership's foresight. She further alleged that external forces were collaborating with insiders to destabilize the nation.

BJP on Ranaut's comments

Reacting to this, the BJP clarified that Ranaut’s comments do not align with the party’s stance. “The statement made by BJP MP Kangana Ranaut in the context of the farmers’ movement is not the opinion of the party. The Bharatiya Janata Party expresses its disagreement with the statement made by Kangana Ranaut,” the party said in an official statement.

The BJP emphasized that Ranaut was neither permitted nor authorized to speak on behalf of the party’s policy. The party reiterated its commitment to the principles of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas," focusing on social harmony and inclusivity. This clarification from the BJP comes amid growing criticism of Ranaut's controversial remarks, which have often stirred public debates. The party’s move to distance itself from the statements reflects its efforts to maintain a balanced and harmonious stance while addressing sensitive issues like the farmers’ protests.
