In anticipation of the upcoming festivals Bakrid and Jyeshtha Ganga Dussehra, authorities in Noida and Greater Noida have enforced Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) from Sunday to Wednesday. The decision aims to ensure peace and harmony during this festive period, police officials announced on Saturday.

What Additional DCP said?

According to Additional DCP (Law and Order) Hirdesh Katheriya, the enforcement of prohibitory orders is crucial due to potential threats posed by anti-social elements that could disrupt public order. "Various examinations and protest programs organized by government bodies and councils require measures to maintain their smooth conduct," Katheriya emphasized.

Know about restrictions

The order highlights restrictions on large gatherings, unauthorized drone usage within a one-kilometer radius of government offices, and the regulation of loudspeakers and sound amplifying devices, especially during nighttime hours from 10 pm to 6 am. Additionally, activities not traditionally held at disputed sites and the accumulation of potentially hazardous materials in open areas or rooftops are strictly prohibited.

Punishable under these sections

"Violations of this order or any part thereof will be punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code," warned the police. The imposition covers the entire Gautam Buddh Nagar Commissionerate from June 16 to 19, with provisions for modifications based on any subsequent directives from the Uttar Pradesh government during this period.
