Noida: Fire engulfs paying guest facility, visual surfaces

New Delhi: A fire erupted on Monday at a paying guest (PG) facility in Sector-62, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, prompting an immediate response from emergency services. Fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the scene, and the flames were successfully extinguished. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.

The fire caused alarm among the residents of the PG, who were quickly evacuated to safety. Local authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire, though initial reports suggest that a short circuit may have triggered the blaze.

Residents and local authorities have raised alarms about the blatant disregard for regulations in these areas. In particular, the situation on Front Road Mithas Line has come under scrutiny, where gates were reportedly installed by breaking through four walls, further violating established standards. Despite the efforts of concerned citizens, commercial activities continue to thrive in these residential zones, openly flouting the rules.

Accused shooter arrested after fire exchange

In a separate incident, Noida police apprehended Vishu alias Kranti (25), believed to be a shooter associated with the notorious Kapil Sangwan alias Nandu gang. The arrest followed a brief exchange of gunfire between the accused and law enforcement officials.

The confrontation occurred after police received a tip-off that Kranti, a suspect in a recent shooting at a sweets shop in Delhi's Tilak Nagar area, would be arriving in Dwarka. On Friday night, two assailants fired at the shop, shattering its front glass but causing no injuries. 

Accused caught in police trap

Acting on the information, a police team laid a trap and surrounded Kranti upon his arrival. In an attempt to evade capture, Kranti opened fire on the police but was quickly overpowered. Authorities recovered an automatic pistol and four empty cartridges from the suspect, confirming his involvement in the gang.

Kranti, a resident of Kakrola village, has a criminal history and is considered an active member of the Nandu gang, according to a senior police officer.
