New Delhi: On Friday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addressed his previous statement urging the armed forces to be prepared for war. Singh clarified that his remarks were made to ensure that India's peace remains uncompromised under any circumstances. He emphasized that while India promotes the global philosophy of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' (the world is one family), the current geopolitical climate necessitates a state of readiness to maintain peace.
According to media reports, Singh expressed India's commitment to peace while acknowledging the need for military readiness. "India is the only country in the world that has championed the message of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam'," Singh stated. "Despite our unwavering advocacy for peace, the present geopolitical context requires us to remain prepared for war to secure peace within India and globally."
During his visit to Lucknow, Singh offered prayers at Khatu Shyam Mandir and chaired the inaugural Joint Commanders' Conference (JCC). The conference, themed 'Sashakt aur Surakshit Bharat: Transforming the Armed Forces', focused on enhancing jointness and integration among the three armed services. Singh praised the Armed Forces for their role in national security and their contributions toward 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' (self-reliant India).
Singh's remarks reflect growing concerns over regional instability and its impact on India’s security. Singh’s call for a deeper analysis of global conflicts aligns with a broader strategy to enhance India’s defense posture and ensure preparedness for a range of scenarios. By focusing on international conflict trends and regional dynamics, Singh aims to bolster the nation’s ability to respond swiftly and effectively to emerging threats.
The emphasis on studying current global conflicts serves to better equip India’s military leadership with the insights needed for future strategic decisions. Singh’s approach is intended to ensure that India remains vigilant and proactive, adapting its defense strategies to the shifting landscape of international security challenges.
