The Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) block’s recent decision to boycott the performances and events hosted by 14 journalists and news anchors was rejected by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kuamr on Saturday, adding, “I’m not against any journalsit and it is wrong to boycott”.

Nitish Kumar claimed he was unaware of the INDIA block’s boycott of TV news anchors. When asked about the INDIA bloc’s plan to boycott the programs of 14 news anchors.

Nitish responded, “Why should I boycott? I am in favor of journalists. When journalists have complete freedom, they will publish whatever they deem appropriate. Do you think you can control journalists? Did I ever have any kind of control over journalists? The content that journalists choose to publish is their prerogative. I am not against anyone. It is wrong to boycott. The people who are in the center right now have kept some people under their control and those people were committing some sorts of wrongdoings in journalism. Do you people not know all these things? I always respect media people”.

After opening a girls’ higher secondary school in his hometown of Bakhtiyarpur, in the Patna district, in honor of his wife Manju Sinha, Nitish was responding to media questions. He also mentioned that the INDIA bloc’s people and parties might have felt that some incongruities were being committed in the field of journalism.

The media representatives of the alliance will abstain from watching the shows of 14 television news anchors listed by INDIA bloc on Thursday.

When releasing the list, Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera said, “You make headlines about our leaders, create memes, twist their speeches, and spread fake news, but we are ready to fight against that. We don’t want to be a part of spreading hatred in society if it manifests as violence, though. In the meantime, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) contrasted the choice with an emergency.

Anil Baluni, a BJP MP, claimed that these “ghamandia” alliance parties continue to operate with the same anarchic and emergency mindset and that the media is being openly threatened, which amounts to stifling the voice of the people.
