Nitish Govt’s Bold Move: No Auto or E-Rickshaws for School Kids, Safety Rule Starts April 1

Bihar: Nitish government in Bihar has taken a big decision for the safety of children. According to this decision, now children have been banned from going to school in auto and e-rickshaw. Keeping in mind the increasing road accidents in Bihar, this order has been issued by the Bihar Police Headquarters Traffic Effect. Actually, safety arrangements are not proper in vehicles like auto and e-rickshaw. In such a situation, in case of an accident, the lives of the children riding in it may be in danger. Therefore, keeping in mind the safety of school students, these vehicles have been banned for going to school. According to the information received, this rule will be implemented from April 1, 2025.

Bihar Police Headquarters will impose a complete ban on going to school in auto and e-rickshaw from April 1. According to the order issued in this regard, 'The Bihar government has decided to ban the operation of auto rickshaws / e-rickshaws for the transportation of school children / students from April 1, 2025. In this regard, the Transport Department, Government of Bihar has issued notification no. 06 / Miscellaneous (E-rickshaw) 07/2015, of which it is mentioned at serial number-10 that e-rickshaw / e-cart will not be used for the transportation of school children.'

In the order issued, it was also said that an information was published in the newspaper in this regard on 21 January 2025. But even after that, information was being received about the operation of e-rickshaws for the transportation of school students. To avoid this, the rule has now been implemented. If this situation continues even after the implementation of the rule, strict action will be taken against it.
