New Delhi: Controversial self-styled godman, Nithyananda, who fled India in 2019 after being accused of rape, has announced that he will reveal the location of his claimed sovereign state, ‘Kailasa,’ on July 21. Nithyananda, who refers to himself as the 'Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism,' has declared that his so-called 'United States of Kailasa' will finally have its geographical coordinates disclosed.

Absconding from India after controversy

Nithyananda has been a figure of immense controversy since he absconded from India. Despite the serious allegations against him, he has maintained a significant following and has continued to make grandiose claims, including the founding of a new country. However, the exact location of Kailasa has remained a mystery, with no concrete evidence apart from pictures and videos circulated online.

Announcement details

In a recently released video, Nithyananda proclaimed, “Kailasa has been opened. Calling all human beings. The doors of Kailasa are open. Even if I open the door, you can only come in if you step on it.” This announcement has sparked curiosity and skepticism among people equally.

Invitation to Kailasa

A post from Kailasa’s official X (formerly Twitter) account read, “Kailasa has been opened. The location of Kailasa will be announced on the 21st Guru Purnima day. We warmly welcome you. Register now as a Kailash resident.” This post included a website link and a WhatsApp number for interested individuals to register.

Kailasa’s official channels have further fueled this curiosity by stating that individuals can apply online to become residents of this supposed new nation. They also claimed that both the United States and the United Nations have recognized Kailasa, though these claims have not been verified by any credible sources.

Nithyananda’s health is deteriorating

Reports have previously suggested that Nithyananda’s health was deteriorating. However, these claims were dispelled when he resumed his online discourses via YouTube shortly afterward. Speculations continue that Nithyananda has acquired an island off the coast of Ecuador, christening it ‘Kailasa’ and promoting it as a sacred site for followers of Hinduism.

As the date approaches, the world watches with bated breath to see if Nithyananda will indeed reveal the location of Kailasa or if this will be another chapter in his series of disillusionments.
