Maharashtra News: Cabinet Minister Nitesh Rane has ignited controversy with his recent comments regarding the attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan at his Mumbai residence. During a rally in Alandi, Rane questioned the authenticity of Khan's stabbing, suggesting it could have been staged rather than a genuine incident.
Rane's remarks came in light of the robbery attempt that left Saif Ali Khan injured. He expressed skepticism about the severity of Khan's injuries, stating, “I saw when he came out of the hospital, I doubted whether he had been stabbed or he was acting. He was dancing while walking.” His comments insinuate that incidents involving prominent figures like Khan receive undue attention, particularly from the media and public.

"Look at what Bangladeshis are doing in Mumbai. They entered Saif Ali Khan's house. Earlier they used to stand at the crossings of the roads, now they have started entering houses. Maybe he came to take him… pic.twitter.com/rcG02rtcOu
Further fueling the fire, Rane referred to Saif Ali Khan as “garbage” during his speech, implying that such individuals should be removed from society. He remarked on the increasing presence of Bangladeshi immigrants in Mumbai, asserting, "Look at what Bangladeshis are doing in Mumbai. They entered Saif Ali Khan's house... garbage should be taken away." This statement reflects a broader criticism of immigration issues in India.
Rane also suggested that the media's concern for Saif Ali Khan was disproportionate compared to Hindu actors. He pointed out that when Hindu actor Sushant Singh Rajput faced difficulties, there was little public outcry. “When a Hindu actor like Sushant Singh Rajput is tortured, no one comes forward to say anything,” he stated. This claim highlights perceived biases in how incidents are reported based on the actors' religious backgrounds.
In response to Rane's statements, Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar expressed uncertainty about Rane's comments but indicated he would seek clarification. He acknowledged the attack on Saif Ali Khan and noted that he is recovering well. Additionally, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam echoed concerns about the circumstances surrounding Khan’s quick recovery from his injuries, questioning if medical advancements were responsible for such a rapid improvement.
Nitesh Rane's comments have sparked significant debate regarding media portrayal, immigration issues, and religious biases in India. As public figures engage in discussions about these sensitive topics, the implications for societal perceptions and political discourse remain profound.
