New Delhi: As the parliamentary proceedings have started after the formation of the Modi 3.0 government, the Union Budget for the financial year 2024-25 is set to be tabled in Lok Sabha on July 23. The Budget session will be conducted between July 22 to August 12. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget. Earlier in the day, President Droupadi Murmu approved a proposal. However, the inaugural session of Parliament started contentiously last week, with clashes between the opposition and the government over various issues, including the NEET-UG examination row. The upcoming Budget holds increased significance due to Prime Minister Modis declarations about writing new chapters of bold decisions in his third term.Key change in interim budget In the interim budget presented in February, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman reduced the fiscal deficit target for FY25 to 5.1% of GDP. The government also maintained the existing tax slabs for both the old and new regimes.
