Nihang Sikhs attack Shiv Sena leader with swords, horrific VIDEO surfaces

New Delhi: Punjab Shiv Sena leader Sandeep Thapar was brutally attacked with swords by Nihang Sikhs in broad daylight in a market area located in Punjab. The police officialas have lodged an FIR against the attackers, and an investigation is currently underway.

The shocking incident occurred while Thapar was traveling on a scooty, with his Personal Security Officer (PSO) seated behind him. Meanwhile, the PSO managed to escape the scene unharmed, leaving Thapar to fend off the attackers. After the assault, the Nihang Singhs fled the scene using Thapar’s scooty.

Clarification on Thapar ancestry

In the aftermath of the attack, Ashok Thapar, the chairman of the Shaheed Sukhdev Thapar Memorial Trust and a descendant of Sukhdev Thapar, clarified that Sandeep Thapar is not related to the revered freedom fighter. He stated, "Sandeep Thapar is not a descendant of Sukhdev Thapar; he only shares the Thapar surname."

Police investigation underway

Punjab Police registered an FIR for attempted murder based on the statement provided by Thapar’s PSO. DCP Ludhiana, Jaskaran Singh Teja, assured that the investigation is progressing and efforts are being made to apprehend the culprits. “Shiv Sena leader Sandeep Thapar is stable now and continues to receive treatment. Punjab Police have registered an FIR for attempted murder and further investigations are underway to arrest the criminals,” he said.
