In one of the recent developments, the Ministry of Home Affairs has handed over Jammu and Kashmir’s June 9 Reasi terror attack to the National Investigation Agency. The move by the Centre has come after Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday held a high-level meeting with the army and other officials concerned with the matter.

The National Investigation Agency has registered its first information report (FIR) after taking over the Reasi terror attack case on June 15 and have started the probe.

Reasi terror attack

The horrific terror attack occurred on June 9 in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi, when the terrorists attacked a bus of 53 pilgrims who were travelling to Katra Vaishno Devi from Shiv Khori. The terror attack claimed 9 lives and left several injured. Following this, a subsequent terror attack happened in Kathua and Doda.

Since then, the Jammu and Kashmir police have interrogated several people in connection with the case. The home minister also stressed using the advanced technology and directed the security forces and intelligence agencies to work in a streamlined process.

The case has been handed over to NIA as its involvement was expected to enhance the investigation and ensure a thorough examination of the evidence.
