The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has issued a bounty of ₹10 lakh for information leading to the capture of Anmol Bishnoi, brother of imprisoned gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, and named in two separate NIA chargesheets from 2022. This move comes as investigators draw stronger connections between Anmol and recent high-profile crimes, including the assassination of Maharashtra politician Baba Siddique.

According to police, three suspected shooters who carried out Siddique’s murder had communicated with Anmol, based in Canada, shortly before the attack through an encrypted messaging app. Evidence suggests Anmol sent photos of both Baba Siddique and his son, MLA Zeeshan Siddique, to the shooters as part of the plot.

Connection to Salman Khan threat case

Anmol Bishnoi’s involvement in criminal activities has drawn national attention, particularly in connection with a shooting incident near Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s home earlier this year. Mumbai Police had issued a Lookout Circular (LOC) for Anmol in April, making him a wanted suspect in the case. Before this, Anmol had publicly posted a threatening message on social media, labelling it as Khan’s “first and final warning.” Police have linked Anmol to 18 previous criminal cases, solidifying his status as a high-priority target for authorities.

Ongoing investigations and public cooperation

The NIA’s announcement underscores the serious threat Anmol poses, with the agency urging the public to cooperate by sharing any relevant information that could aid in his capture. This bounty reflects efforts to curb the influence of criminal networks tied to Lawrence Bishnoi’s syndicate, which has extended across borders, involving collaborators in Canada and the United States.

With investigations ongoing, the NIA hopes this bounty will generate crucial leads in tracking down Anmol and dismantling the transnational networks he is alleged to be part of.
