In line with its ongoing investigation into the radicalization case involving the Bengaluru prison, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted search operations at 17 locations throughout seven states on Tuesday.Prison radicalization means preparing groups of prisoners for violent extremist/ideological inspired illegal acts after release. Raids began this morning in several states, including Bengaluru and Tamil Nadu the locations are tied to the accused in the cases terror scheme. It is also anticipated the raids also has connection with the recent Rameshwaram Café blast case.In the case of the Bengaluru Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) Prison radicalization and fidayeen (suicide) attack conspiracy, the National Investigation Agency charge-sheeted eight individuals on January 12 of this year, including two absconders and a life sentence. The case was originally was registered by Bengaluru Police in July 2023, following the seizure of arms and ammunition from the possession of the seven accused who were gathered in the house of one of them. T Naseer, a convict of life imprisonment and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist, has allegedly radicalized several individuals inside the Bengaluru central prison, instigating them to carry out terror attacks in the country.The chargesheet names, T Naseer of Keralas Kannur district, who has been serving a life sentence in Central Prison in Bengaluru since 2013, while Junaid Ahmed, alias JD and Salman Khan are suspected to have fled abroad. The others have been identified as Syed Suhail Khan alias Suhail, Mohammed Umar alias Umar, Zahid Tabrez alias Zahid, Syed Mudassir Pasha and Mohammed Faisal Rabbani alias Sadath.
